rPET stands for recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate. It is made from post-consumer PET materials, such as used water bottles, and is reused in the manufacture of new preforms and containers.

A preform is a small, test-tube-shaped piece of PET plastic that is later blown into its final container shape using heat and air pressure.
A container is the finished, blow-moulded form of a preform, such as a bottle or jar.
The preform is the intermediate stage in production. It is injection-moulded and later blow-moulded into a container. Containers are the final packaging product.
Preforms are compact and easier to transport, allowing for blow-moulding closer to filling locations. This saves costs and reduces environmental impact.
